ここ数年でいくつもの学校が統廃合されている。
地元民や卒業生にとって自分の母校がなくなるのは、
やはり淋しいものである。
子供の時代に学んだ学校は自分たちの思い出となり
記憶から消えることは永遠にない。

Many schools are integrated in these past several years.
It is very sad to lose their old schools for local people and graduates.
Their memories will never disappear even if their school are closed.
そして平成25年に廃校となった、志摩市立船越中学校。
もう、入学式も卒業式もない。
面倒と思いながら歌った校歌。
音楽の授業で歌詞を覚えさせられた校歌。
特に歌詞の意味を考えることもなく歌った校歌。
廃校になるということは、
この校歌が歌い継がれることはなくなってしまう。
校歌も卒業を迎えることである。
楽しかった思い出、
悲しかった思い出、
時には悔しい思いも回想され、
廃校という言葉を目の前に、
過去の様々な思いが馳せる。
Funakoshi Junior High School closed down in 2013. There is neither the entrance ceremony nor the graduation ceremony any more. Some students wanted not to sing their school song. They had to practice singing the song at a class of the music. They did not even pay attention to the meaning of the text of the school song in particular. But after closing the school, they can not sing it anymore. The school song has finished it’s role.
そして地元が立ち上がった。
悲しんでばかりいるのではなく、
未来に向かって前に進むために形に残そう。
廃校になる前にこの学校に関わった皆んなで校歌を歌おう。
「校歌の卒業式」をしよう。
多くの人の思いが一つになる。
地元住民みんなで出演する地域主役型映画で、
みんなの記憶に残る映像に収めたい。
自分たちが育った学び舎を永遠に忘れないように。
And people who live in hometown stood up. They should not feel sad. They wanted to keep this song in their memory. They decided to make movie ‘Graduation of the school song’. The thought of many people becomes one.
これがきっかけとなり、
次年度廃校になった越賀中学校の映画も制作され、
賢島映画祭の運営も始まった。
廃校は、終わりではなく始まりとなった。
この伊勢志摩には伝えたい多くの物語がまだまだ沢山ある。
This was a big chance. The preparation of Kashikojima film festival began.
