うじじきれい団、参上!!
Here is Ujiji-kirei-sisters!
ここは鹿児島県奄美群島の南西に位置する沖永良部島。
サンゴ礁に囲まれたこの島は豊かな自然と美しい景観に癒される。
季節になると島のあちこちでパパイヤやマンゴー、
島バナナなどの美味しいフルーツがたわわに実る。
海辺にはたくさんの美しい生き物たちが生息し、
水辺のあちこちにヤドカリが集落をつくりうごめいている。
ときおり、浜辺のしげみから紫の爪を持つ大きなオカヤドカリが、
コロコロ、コロンと音をたてて落ちてくる。
This is Okinoerabu’s island located in the southwest of the Amami archipelago in Kagoshima prefecture. This island is surrounded by coral reefs and we are cured by its rich nature and beautiful scenery. Tasty fruits such as papaya, mango and island banana are ripen in the fields around the island when the season comes. Many beautiful creatures live on the seaside, and Hermit crabs are making a village around the waterside. Occasionally, a big Oka hermit crabs with a purple nail from the shore of the beach falls down with the sound of ‘Corocoro-coron’.
平成29年の夏休み。
宿題の作文のテーマが「環境問題」。
かんきょうもんだいっていったい何だ??
三人姉妹の少女たちが夏休みの作文のテーマを考えながら
自由研究として始めた活動がこの「うじじきれい団」。
ウジジ浜。美しい島の浜辺に降り立ちじっとみると、
漂流ゴミがたくさん流れ着いている。
うじじきれい団は、浜辺のゴミ拾いを始めた。
「だって、キレイな浜辺で遊びたいもの。」
Summer vacation in 2017. The theme of summer vacation homework is environmental problem. “What is environmental problem?”. Activities that three young sisters started as summer vacation homework is “Ujiji-kirei-sisters”. “Ujiji beach”. When they got down on the beach of a beautiful island, they found a lot of drifting waste. Ujiji-kirei-sisters began picking up the drifting waste. Because they want to play on a beautiful beach.
それらのゴミを拾い上げ、バーコードを確認する。
発見したことは、海外で製造されたゴミが多いこと。
どの国でつくられたものなのか。
どの国から流れ着いたのか。
自由研究が始まった。
漂着ゴミなので、当然、流れる軽いものが多いこと。
漁師の道具も多くある。
ウキを集めて砂浜アートをたのしんだり、
ゴミと一緒に綺麗なシーグラスや貝殻も探して集める。
それは楽しみの一つ。
つらい仕事も楽しみを見つけることで、豊かな活動に変わっていく。
今ではゴミの数が多いほど、やる気が湧いてくるようになった。
They picked up those drifting waste and checked the barcode of them. What they discovered was that there were many wastes manufactured abroad. In which country was it made? From which country has it been flowed from? They started their research. Due to the drifted nature, naturally, there is various type of light trash. There are also a lot of fisherman’s tools. Enjoy sandy beach by collecting (uki), beautiful seagrass and shells along with waste. It is one of an enjoyment. By finding enjoyment in the hard work, the hard work will change into affluent activities. The more the number of waste exists, the more the motivation we have.
うじじきれい団が拾い集めたゴミは処分場へ持ち込むが、
当然いくらかの処分費用がかかる。
その必要な費用を彼女らは自分たちのお小遣いから支払っている。
毎日拾っても拾ってもどんどんゴミは流れ着く。
これも大きな問題だが、お小遣いが減るのも大きな問題だ。
Ujiji-kirei-sisters picked up waste and took them into the disposal site. But disposal cost is expensive. They pay the necessary expenses from their own pocket money. Even if they picked up it every day, the waste steadily gathered. This is a big problem, but the reduced pocket money is also a big problem.
冬になると、
潮流がかわりウジジ浜の漂着ゴミは少なくなる。
そのかわり島の西海岸に漂着ゴミが増える。
ウジジ浜に限った問題ではない。
他の浜へもくり出そう。
When winter comes, the tide current changes, and the drifting waste on Ujiji beach is also decreases. In reality, the waste increases on the west coast of the island. This is not limited to Ujiji beach only. “Let’s extend to other beaches”.
今では他の地域にも広がりつつあるうじじきれい団の活動。
時々大人も参加してくれるようになり、
さらには、他の島でも取り組みを検討しはじめた大人たちも現れた。
この活動を通して世界へ発信し、
世界の海がきれいになることを願う。
The activities of Ujiji-kirei-sisters started spreading to other areas. Sometimes older people also participated in this activity and in other islands, as well as people who started to consider the activity also appeared.
We hope that these activities will spread to the world and the world’s ocean will become beautiful.
